never released before on lp, here comes the complete original soundtracks of french cult film composer françois de roubaix for director yves boisset. two movies that embody the two sides of francois de roubaixs approach to recording. for le saut de lange (1971), the self-taught composer wrote an orchestration for some fifty musicians playing strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion with two distinct solo instruments alternating the main theme: indian sitar on the one hand and accordion on the other. r.a.s (1973) was recorded on a 8-track tape recorder, in françois de roubaixs home studio rue de courcelle, where most of his 70s scores were recorded. the result is a mix of military-march rhythms, rolls on the snare-drum with sounds of synthi aks syntheziser: de roubaix invented a modern sound for this contemporary-history tragedy.

brothers harvey and ryan mckay return to drumcode with their dynamic alias project. we were introduced to alias last year when the mckay brothers dropped the impact-heavy visions ep mid-way through 2017. the duo followed with a lauded contribution for drumcode live and the buzz from fans was palpable. the follow up sees the pair in powerhouse form. the title track nrg is an attitude-packed tour de force compromised of aggressive snares, warped vocals and a tension-filled break, it has been smashed by adam beyer for the last six months. orange sunshine pulls no punches as it dishes out apocalyptic acid paired with the siblings startling drum work. the event rounds out the ep and is an exhilarating affair propelled by uplifting synth lines and a buzzing energetic bassline.

from his debut on tresor in 2012 with the super strength ep, all the way through to his vibrations long player in 2016, paris based artist marcelus has continuously provided some of the most intricate productions to come out on tresor records in recent years. marcelus instills unpredictable rhythms as the very eseence of his music. these di erent layered time signatures move together in spiraling forms designed in the french enchanters mind. the magnet ep o ers one long trip in four chapters. the title track, magnet, ushers in the ritual and strikes with its creole flavors, drawing careful listeners back to sound palettes and rhythms of some decisive ur references. from there on, the mind-bending begins. parenthesis is the second slow step in this brooding ceremony. say it again picks up the pace, driving the listener further down into the tunnel. the beads of descent finally brings the mind back to the surface of reality.
brothers black launch the second release on their self-titled, vinyl-only label with dance-floor focussed va. brbl002 is a selection artists whom the duo hold in high regard with the addition of an original track. kicking off the release is the berlin-based dutch dj, delta funktionen. keeping true to the raw, electro-influenced sound he s renowned for, platform4e is a tough, rolling peak-time weapon thats instantly playable and recognisable. up next on the a2 is an original track from brothers black. keeping with their groove-orientated, percussion focussed style, cold shoulder is a dj focussed tool that combines quick fire percussion with a rolling low end and sharp fm stabs. leading the aa1 is one of detroit s finest, and dj veteran, eric cloutier. in keeping with his trademark deep but warm sound is alexithymia. combining swirling acid soundscapes with warm, uplifting pads and a steady groove, this track is perfect for the darker hours of the night. following the aa2 is the mysterious high mobility weapons unit. with just a handful of releases, hmwu has a distinct and highly playable sound that has become a mainstay of the brothers black record bag. staying true to his fast paced, groove-orientated productions, aeromagnetic is a deeper-edged tool thats made for the dance-floor.

dutch live-act and dj duo artefakt return to delsin records with an intricately produced three track release entitled falling into the light. artefakt began releasing music together in 2012 and now boast a discography spanning field records, konstrukt and deep sound channel, not to mention regular appearances on delsin where their debut album entitled kinship dropped in 2017. returning to delsin, the pairs next outing once again demonstrates their ever-evolving sound and is an exciting precursor for the launch of their own label later this year. rolling drums open the release in the blue hour as murky synths join hazy atmospherics, making way for weltformel with its racing syncopated percussion and ethereal pads that ebb and flow throughout the mix. finally, falling into the light combines springy kicks with crystalline melodies, metallic elements and rattling effects to conclude a mesmerising release.

label boss yse is back on pft with the long anticpated follow up to his gesamtkunstwerk ep which made it into kai alci s best of 2015 chart. if you have been following ant plate s productions under his various guises (yse, yse saint laur ant, rhythm plate, vengaboys) you know what to expect - deep, quirky, innovative house music that sounds like nothing else out there. this ep doesn t disappoint - the grooves on here are impeccable from start to finish. opener unstoppable builds the tension nicely with nagging strings and chords before letting loose with the drums. sun shadow was actually selected by red rack em as one of his best of 2017 despite not even being released. now that s literally being ahead of your time. the robot boogie of all we are is guaranteed to stop heads on the dancefloor with it s unique vocal and syncopated shuffle. closing track you told me slows the tempo slightly and is one for the deeper moments.

since the debut in 2011, the swedish music project pro424 has combined complex modular synth based sounds with strong melodies resembling the synth genre. at the same always with a firm stance in techno and underground culture and always with desire to perform the music live. the previous immune released in 2014, became one of lamours most sold albums ever and was compared to historic references such as tangerine dream and underworld, but also richie hawtin. the new album is a thematic prequel to immune and is set in a light and hopeful soundscape which for some reason collapses. behind pro424 is stockholm based artist and producer maximilian karlander, who aside from music is a bioengineer.

as a dutch label, were proud supporters of the homegrown sounds of guys like nachtbraker, frits wentink and fouk. adding another dutchie to our list of exquisite producers, we present you pitto with his debut on heist recordings. pitto is a musically omnipotent creature, venturing into deep house with the underground hit richklap on wolfskuil back in 2012 and dreamy electronic pop with his album breaking up the static on sonar kollektiv and virgin. he has also moved beyond producing his own music, running studio stekker, a dutch music festival that focused on freeform creative interactions between musicians where the artists performing on the festival locked themselves up a week in advance in kytopia (colin benders synth paradise) to make new music together. through this, hes worked with people like kyteman, matthew johnson, sebastian mullaert and colin de la plante, better known as the mole, who is also present on pittos heist debut with a remix. the late night studio moves ep is one of varied styles, where pittos inspiration from african music, jazzy and soulful samples becomes evident. he finds his funk in repetition, clever sample combinations and combining electronic and live elements in the most organic way. late night studio moves finds its basic groove in an african percussive loop.

next up for rhythm sections club focused sub-label international black 004 is here and it is bringing the heat - this time from tennessee, usa. mister saturday night and cgi affiliate alex falk delivers a 4 track ep made with one thing in mind the dancefloor. taking influence from the likes chevel, levon, redshape and phase, alex falk achieves a singular vision merging american and european styles of techno. opening with upp, an effortless techno groove with a tight rolling bass line, classic lead stabs that pulsate, twist and turn as the heavy kick punishes the subs. beta comes in next with a serious low end bounce a distorted bass bump pushes the system to the max before being followed up by lower sub all swinging around a fat house kick and tight percussion another club stomper for the serious rigs only. the b side is a proper dub techno workout.

two berlin underdogs and a detroit ravemaster. a driving force in the very early frankfurt electronics since the late 80s, to hardcore acid in brooklyn in the early 90s, producing legends as carlos peron among many others along his way, adsx aka andre fischer might sound new to many but has been an active part of the underground electronic movement for the last 30 years. benji df aka hanoben is no newbie to the scene either and might have soundtracked your night if you were to be found at clubs like tresor or snax in the late 90s. together they recorded an ode to aural sex, its acid counterpart, and a genius sketch of a club banger. when label honcho capablanca heard the latter had little doubts about commissioning an extended mix to motor city s special forces gen. sharif laffrey aka thee activator, who needs little introduction to the discerning raver ears as the man behind instant acid classics turn it up and always, among others. after countless studio days and nights and endless versions (we stopped counting at 56th) sharif delivers what is possibly his best work to date, an unstoppable 12 minute dancefloor annihilator. to wrap such special release we asked legend alan oldham aka ur s minister of information aka dj t-1000, (also responsible for label designs for transmat, djax, submerge, pure sonik and a long etcetera) to create one of his classic artworks. capablanca deconstructs his center pieces for the fully printed sleeve, and everybody s.c.r.e.a.m.

the mighty man power returns to correspondant. one of the earliest labels to champion his explorative technoid landscapes, and deliver his debut album, the mexico based composer makes a welcome return with three truly singular trips the zen of xen comes in two segued parts, comprising almost 13 minutes of full intergalactic immersion. laced with the alluring deep-dream vocals of tel avivs xen, anchored with tripped-out humanized harmonics and weaved with soaring pads, its a genuinely emotional narrative thats been cooking away on man powers creative wishlist since he first met xen at a show five years ago. elsewhere heart for yes, life for no will have you spitting rainbow emojis all night. an incredible piece of vibrant melodic techno rooted in synthesis, galvanized with emotive layers, driven by feels it sets us up perfectly for the fantastical finale hubris. cosmic, soft-focused, sparkling but topped with a choral chant that comes in from nowhere and arrests every sense as the elements rise and fuse with theatre. by far one of man powers most techno-focused and biggest records to date.

incl. downloadcode ... unnatural, uneasy, unexpected. the great filter keeps you on your toes constantly, it makes your fingers tingle with anticipation and the hairs on your arms stand up from the tension. it is eerily calm and controlled, while it takes you to faraway places in the twilight, that dont actually exist. subdued, bright yellow light with no sun in sight. wide plains with an inherent structure that can only be illogical. unorganic sounds, alien voices, excited synths and sobering organs. reality is so mundane. the way we are now expecting it from krink, he does what is unexpected and stretches conventions somewhere around techno and deep house. the music is driven by imagery rather than song structure. the ep puts cutting rhythms over comfort and sound over beauty. like a focused dream, it is concrete and abstract. lets get found in the universe

more from the vaults of uprising with some previously unreleased dubplate mixes. the vocal cut is an alternate take with slightly different lyrics over a more raw, spare cut of the rhythm, sans synthesizer, which has been rarely, if ever heard. the dub mix on the flip was played on dubplate by jahlovemuzik back in the mid 70s. when one mix of a great tune is not enough, dkr is there.
